Hara jerdoni
Common name: Asian Stone Catfish, Moth Catfish
Origin: South Asia (native to slow-moving streams and rivers in India and Bangladesh)
Optimal living conditions: 20 - 26 °C temperature
6.0 - 7.5 pH
40 l+ sized aquarium
Adult fish size: 3 - 4 cm
Diet: Hara jerdoni are omnivorous and should be fed a diet of sinking micro pellets, live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp, and occasional plant-based foods such as spirulina-based wafers. They are nocturnal feeders, so feed them during evening hours for the best results.
Tankmates: Peaceful species such as small tetras, rasboras, and shrimp. They are shy and prefer to be kept in groups of 4 or more, thriving in a well-decorated tank with plenty of hiding spots like driftwood, rocks, and plants. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive fish.
Note: These catfish are delicate and require a stable, well-maintained environment with low water flow. They are perfect for small, peaceful community aquariums.
Note: This small chart is only the basics and is not enough for you to decide if this fish is right for you! Do your own detailed research before buying!!
