As bottom-dwellers, they are scavengers and will sift through the substrate for food, so it’s important to provide them with a balanced diet.

Tankmates: Generally peaceful, but they can become territorial, especially when housed in smaller tanks. It’s best to keep them with other peaceful, non-aggressive species, such as tetras, barbs, and non-territorial cichlids. Avoid housing them with overly aggressive fish or other bottom-dwelling species that may compete for food or space. They do well in groups but can also be kept individually.
