Carinotetraodon travancoricus
Common name: Dwarf Pufferfish (also known as the Malabar Puffer)
Origin: India (specifically from the Western Ghats region in Kerala)
Optimal living conditions: 24 - 28 °C temperature
6.5 - 7.5 pH
40 l+ sized aquarium
Adult fish size: 3 - 4 cm
Diet: Feed a varied diet of high-quality frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and snails. Dwarf Pufferfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in protein. They may also nibble on some plant matter but primarily thrive on meaty foods. It's important to provide snails to help wear down their teeth.
Tankmates: Due to their territorial and aggressive nature, Dwarf Pufferfish should be kept either alone or with very peaceful species. They are not suitable for a community tank with slow-moving or long-finned fish, as they may nip at the fins of other fish.
