Origin: South America (found primarily in the Rio Guaporé and Rio Paraguay basins, Brazil)

Adult fish size: 4 - 5 cm
Diet: Feed a varied diet of high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Corydoras nanus are omnivores and will also graze on detritus, algae, and plant matter in the aquarium.
Tankmates: Peaceful species such as tetras, rasboras, and small catfish. Corydoras nanus are social and should be kept in schools of at least 6 individuals. They are bottom dwellers and do well in community aquariums with other peaceful fish. Avoid keeping them with aggressive or large species.
