Hyphesobrycon robertsi
Common name: Roberts' Tetra, Red-Tail Tetra
Origin: South America (native to the Guaporé River basin in Brazil and Bolivia)
Optimal living conditions: 24 - 28 °C temperature
6.0 - 7.5 pH
80 l+ sized aquarium
Adult fish size: 4 - 5 cm
Diet: Hyphessobrycon robertsi are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet that includes high-quality flake food, small pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. They will also enjoy plant-based foods like spirulina and blanched vegetables such as zucchini and spinach.
Tankmates: These tetras are peaceful and do well with other similarly peaceful fish like tetras, rasboras, small barbs, and other community species. They should be kept in schools of 6 or more to feel secure and display their natural schooling behavior. Avoid keeping them with large or aggressive fish.
Note: Hyphessobrycon robertsi is known for its striking red tail and vibrant coloration, which makes it an attractive addition to a community aquarium. Like other tetras, they are best kept in schools, where they feel more comfortable and less stressed. They prefer well-planted aquariums with ample swimming space.
