Product description

Common name: Amapá Tetra

Origin: South America (native to the Rio Amapá and surrounding areas in Brazil)

Optimal living conditions: 24 - 28 °C temperature
6.0 - 7.5 pH
80 l+ sized aquarium

Adult fish size: 4 - 5 cm

Diet: Hyphessobrycon amapaensis are omnivores and will thrive on a varied diet. They should be fed high-quality flake food, small pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. They also appreciate plant-based foods like spirulina and blanched vegetables such as spinach and zucchini.

Tankmates: These tetras are peaceful and do well with other similarly sized peaceful species, including other tetras, rasboras, and small catfish. They prefer being kept in groups of 6 or more to promote natural schooling behavior. Avoid aggressive or large predatory fish, which may stress or harm them.

Note: Hyphessobrycon amapaensis is a peaceful and visually appealing species, known for its slender body and subtle coloration. It’s an excellent choice for community aquariums, where they can display their natural schooling behavior and vibrant red fins. They thrive in well-planted tanks with plenty of swimming space.
