Diet: Hyphessobrycon wadai are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet. They can be fed high-quality flake food, small pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. They also enjoy plant-based foods like spirulina and blanched vegetables such as spinach, zucchini, and peas.
Tankmates: These tetras are peaceful and do well with other small, peaceful species such as rasboras, other tetras, small cichlids, and catfish. They should be kept in schools of at least 6 individuals to promote their natural schooling behavior and reduce stress. Avoid housing them with larger or more aggressive fish that could intimidate or harm them.
Note: Hyphessobrycon wadai is a relatively rare tetra, known for its delicate, silvery body and the vibrant red markings along its fins. These tetras are active and peaceful, making them a great addition to community tanks. They do best in groups where they can exhibit their natural schooling behavior and feel secure. A well-planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space is ideal for their well-being.
