Diet: Mesonauta festivus is an omnivorous cichlid and enjoys a varied diet. They should be fed a mix of high-quality cichlid pellets, live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Plant-based foods like algae wafers, spinach, and lettuce can also be included in their diet to ensure balanced nutrition. Providing variety will help maintain their health, vibrant colors, and active behavior.

Tankmates: Festive Cichlids are relatively peaceful for their size, but they can be territorial, especially when breeding. They do well with other peaceful to moderately-sized fish, such as tetras, larger barbs, and other South American cichlids that are not overly aggressive.
