SunSun HW-302 - external filter for up to 250l

The HW series filters were designed with the aim of maximizing capacity, ensuring the best filtration while maintaining ease of use and operation of the filter, providing reliable performance.

Quality of materials SunSun:
The construction uses top-class materials. The body, lid, and other plastic components are made from ABS plastic, which is an amorphous material with considerable density. It is characterized by high resistance to cracking and mechanical damage. The seals are made from rubber with an appropriate number of polyolefin chain connections, which ensure suitable flexibility and durability. The materials and original mold forms guarantee the reliability of the filter for which it was created. Manufacturers - "imitators" of filters with the same construction, of which there are many on the market, can only envy the execution, quality, and class of the SunSun brand product.

Sealing only in the original:
The effectiveness of the sealing is complemented by a double locking system. The system relies on two pairs of clips with different closing mechanisms. One pair provides pressure based on leverage, ensuring the tightness of the closure. This pair of clips also facilitates opening the filter lid. The second pair of clips ensures the durability of the closure, even when lifting the full filter by the lid. These clips close with a snap method.

The filter features an "aqua-stop" system that blocks water flow from the filter to the hoses. This valve allows for the disconnection of hoses from the filter lid. It is essential during any maintenance work.

Quiet and efficient:
The silent operation is ensured by a pump with high operational quality. The pump is based on a ceramic rotor, allowing it to work in seawater. It is enclosed in a sealed and large filter lid, which additionally dampens the pump's operation, while rubber feet absorb any vibrations.

Water intake and outlet:
A tube with a protective basket draws water from the closest possible areas of the bottom. The length of this tube can be freely modified using additional segments. In this way, the filter sucks up impurities that settle on the bottom, which are a common cause of sedimentation and deterioration of water quality. The inlet has a mesh screen that prevents fish, shrimp, plants, and other large elements from entering the filter.

The water outlet, thanks to a large number of tubes and fittings, can also be freely modified. It operates via a rain bar, which perfectly aerates the water, effectively replacing popular aerators.


The filter is originally equipped with various filter media.
Biological filtration is provided by bio-ceramics of various porosities and bioballs. Ceramics and bioballs are habitats for bacteria that reduce the concentration of NH3, NH4, and NO2 in the aquarium, simultaneously impacting the health of fish and providing a natural nutrient source for plants.

Chemical filtration is ensured by activated carbon, which effectively binds metals and their compounds, humic substances, pesticides, and metabolic products. It serves as a clarifying medium for water and reducing unpleasant odors in the water. It improves water quality, including biological filtration.

Mechanical filtration is provided by a sponge of appropriate grading. It removes all impurities from the water, clarifying it from all dust, plant residues, or small floating substrate particles.

The baskets for filter media can accommodate any filter insert according to the needs of the tank.
